Idaho's Treasure Valley got a good snowfall during the night and this morning. My lucky brother just happens to be taking the day off to make opening day at Bogus Basin Mountain Resort, which looks down upon our hometown of Boise.
Meanwhile, in my corner of north central Florida, it is sunny and breezy, and a great day to be out and about walking the woods and fields, catching glimpses of sandhill cranes, sharp-shinned hawks, and eastern phoebes. Still, I'd trade it for a day of skiing with my brother, were it not for the pesky airplane ride that separates me from that activity.
